Picture Math allows you to create engaging, thematic math puzzles using your own images. Whether you’re designing worksheets, puzzle books, or interactive social media content, this tutorial will guide you through your first puzzle creation step by step.

1. Preparing Your First Puzzle

Step 1: Open Picture Math

  1. Launch Puzzle Maker Pro and select the Picture Math module.
  2. The main interface will display puzzle settings and customization options.

Step 2: Load Your Images (Content Tab)

  1. Click the Add Files button to select individual images or drag-and-drop entire folders.
  2. Supported formats: PNG, JPG, and WEBP.
  3. Picture Math will automatically select images at random to generate a unique puzzle each time.
  4. Adjust Image Scaling: Scale images down to fit within puzzle layouts. You can find this option on the style tab.

2. Configuring Puzzle Difficulty (Settings Tab)

Step 3: Select a Difficulty Level

  1. Choose from Educational Levels (Adjustable Levels for Customization) or Recreational/Social Media (Easy, Medium, Hard).
  2. Adjust Number of Symbols to control how many different images appear in each puzzle.
  3. Set the Maximum Value per Symbol and per Equation to define number ranges.
  4. Enable Allow Subtraction if you want equations with subtraction included.

3. Customizing Your Puzzle’s Style (Style Tab)

Step 4: Adjust Fonts, Colors & Layout

  1. Font Settings: Click to select from available TrueType and most OpenType fonts installed on your system.
  2. Solution Box Style:
    • Choose Circle or Square for answer boxes.
    • Adjust Size, Fill Color, and Line Width to match your design preferences.
  3. Background & Borders:
    • Set Background Color or enable a Transparent Background.
    • Adjust Image Border Width and Color for better visual contrast.

4. Adding Branding & Custom Titles (Branding Tab)

Step 5: Personalize Your Puzzle

  1. Set Custom Titles & Descriptions:
    • Enter a Title manually or let the software use the Folder Name as the title.
    • Add a Custom Description to guide users on solving the puzzle.
  2. Branding Features:
    • Add a Logo, Website URL, or Watermark to personalize your puzzle.
    • Customize title and description fonts, background colors, and puzzle background color for branding.
    • Use the Branding Settings Window to configure and save branding presets for future use.

5. Previewing and Generating Puzzles

Step 6: Preview and Fine-Tune Your Puzzle

  1. Click Next Preview to generate a new puzzle using the current settings.
  2. Adjust images, styling, or difficulty levels as needed before finalizing.
  3. Click Save Preview to save the current previewed puzzle as an image file.

Step 7: Generate and Save Your Puzzles

  1. Click Create to generate puzzles and save them immediately in the output folder.
  2. Set the size of the puzzle image in pixels or inches.
  3. Use custom folder structures to keep puzzles organized.
  4. Export puzzles in bulk or individually based on your needs.
  5. Save Puzzle Settings as Presets:
    • Save customized puzzle settings as a preset for later reuse.
    • Naming a preset “Default” will automatically load it whenever Picture Math is selected in Puzzle Maker Pro.
